At the end of the day, when people are facing a problem, and all they have left is their selves to work with, they turn to acts of theatre. They suffer the irony of gathering secretly to somehow show their struggle publicly, to bring people together to invent solutions, to make a last stand for the survival of their spirit, to live in the hope of an end to isolation and pain.

Oh, the things that the Theatre can do if we let it! It will entertain us, it will educate us, it will empower us to survive all that confounds us with the help of one another. Take care of it in the good times. In the bad times, it might be all you've got left.
